Anxiety & OCD Therapy in Fort Lauderdale, FL
Still Minds Psychology: Welcome
At Still Minds Psychology, we provide specialized mental health therapy in Ft. Lauderdale and virtually throughout FL, TX, VT, ID, & SC for anxiety, OCD, panic, and phobias. If you feel stuck in cycles of worry, feeling constantly on edge, stuck engaging in mental checking, avoidance, or compulsive behaviors, therapy can help you break free and start living confidently. Treatment is not about reassurance, just getting validation, or “just thinking positive”; it’s about building real skills that reduce anxiety and restore trust in yourself. If you’ve been told to “just stop thinking that way” or “let it go”, you’re in the right place.
Meghan Cromie is one of the top OCD experts in South Florida and highly trained in evidenced based treatments like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). It is very possible to make a full recovery from anxiety, OCD, and phobias.
You do not have to manage this alone, and you do not have to feel this way forever. Start therapy with a clinician who understands anxiety and OCD
Conditions we specialize in treating
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD, helps break the cycle of obsessions and compulsions in all their forms , including Pure-O, contamination fears, harm OCD, and religious or sexual intrusive thoughts.
When worry feels constant and hard to switch off, treatment targets the thinking patterns and avoidance behaviors that keep the cycle going. From GAD, Health Anxiety, Social Anxiety we address whatever fear latches into
We target the fear of the physical sensations themselves, so panic attacks lose their grip instead of being managed around indefinitely.
From emetophobia to fear of flying to fear of driving, structured exposure work moves at a pace you help set, until the fear no longer runs your decisions.
Evidence-based approaches help you process what happened so it stops dictating how you move through the present. If trauma has resulted in anxious or avoidant attachment patterns therapy can help us learn to connect and feel safe again.

Meet Meghan, Licensed Therapist, Anxiety & OCD specialist
As an licensed therapist specialized in anxiety and OCD , I help people overcome fear, not just cope with it, with some noticing a reduction in weeks.
I understand the way anxious thoughts can leave you feeling trapped. I struggled with severe anxiety and panic for several years before I was able to get help, and start actually living my life. I know therapy can help, and now I’m passionate about helping others.
I specialize in treating all forms of anxiety, from OCD (all subtypes & Pure-O), to social anxiety, panic disorder, health anxiety, phobias (agoraphobia, emetophobia, ect.), trauma (PTSD, religious trauma, childhood trauma), ARFID, ADHD, BFRB’s (excoriation, hair pulling), hoarding, tics and Tourettes, and more. I am a LGBTQA+ Affirming provider.
If you’ve tried more traditional talk therapy and didn’t get results, an evidenced-based, action focused approach may be what you need. I'll work with you step by step & at your pace. I know finding help can be intimidating. Fear and stigma stops many of us from getting the help they need. Don’t wait until you feel “perfectly ready”, knowing you want more is all that’s needed
Our Services
At Still Minds Psychology, we don't only practice generic talk therapy. We are trained in several specific, research-backed treatment models chosen for complex conditions. Below is an overview of the approaches we're trained in. At Still Minds Psychology, treatment starts with an accurate understanding of what's actually driving your symptoms, and a treatment plan built from the models above, matched to you.

“ I’ve really noticed such a huge reduction in symptoms and for the first time in years, I feel like I can live my life like a “normal” person without constant overwhelming anxiety. It restricted and impacted nearly every aspect of my daily life, and I honestly never pictured a reality where I wouldn’t feel that way or where I wouldn't feel like 99% of the things I wanted to do I couldn't because of my emetophobia. I truly cannot stress that point enough, I really really never envisioned a world where I could be rid of that feeling, and even though it is not completely gone, how I feel now is incomparable.
I finally feel like I can control my avoidance behaviors and compulsions rather than them controlling me, and that’s such an empowering feeling. I just wanted to express my gratitude and say thank you so much. I was skeptical at first (because I didn’t think this could ever improve), but reaching out for that first consultation was genuinely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’m so glad I did, you’ve truly changed my life.”

Still Minds Psychology is not in network with any insurers, but can provide super bills to help with out of network reimbursement.
While therapy can be an expense, many clients view it as an investment. My patients find working with a highly trained specialist is still more cost effective than years spent trying to treat their condition with someone who does not understand how anxiety, OCD or phobias work. I work with people to recover and eliminate symptoms and teach you the skills to handle issues effectively once therapy is done.

How much is it if i use my insurance?
While I do not bill insurance and am not in network with any plans, many of my patients choose to use their out of network benefits for therapy (not coaching), this usually end up paying $50-$80 per therapy appointment . I cannot provide you an estimate of what therapy will cost with your benefits, but the fastest way to get exact information about your benefits is to call your insurance company an ask about out of network coverage. The procedure code for your first session is 90791 and all subsequent sessions are code 90837. Important questions to ask are
Does my plan have out of network benefits for mental health therapy?
Do I have a deductible to meet before I can use my out of network benefits?
How would I submit requests for reimbursement?
I am happy to provide you with a receipt (superbill) to make applying for reimbursement by your insurance easy. Please note because I am not a direct insurance biller you are paying the full cost of session at the time. of service and applying for reimbursement from your plan.

Which insurance plans do you take?
I am not in network with insurances. I am not a Medicare or Medicaid provider. I am willing to act as an out of network provider by supplying superbills. This means we are not in network and do not provide insurance billing services only receipts to help you get reimbursement.
If I submit super bills to my insurance can therapy still be private?
No, therapy is not as private when you use insurance, even using superbills. This is because your insurance company will have access to your diagnosis, treatment plan, and progress notes in order to process claims, which means your mental health information is not completely confidential between you and your therapist. By applying for reimbursement your insurer has the right to request your entire therapy record.
Many people choose to pay out-of-pocket for more privacy in therapy.

I am currently licensed as a therapist in FL, TX, ID, VT, and SC. These are the only places I am able to offer therapy services. Clients must be physically located in one of these states at time of session. This does not have anything to do with insurance, but with how the United States regulates therapy. If you are outside of a state I’m licensed and interested in working together, I do offer international coaching services that are separate from my therapy services. Please read FAQ for the differences between therapy and coaching.

How long can I expect to come to therapy?
There is no definitive answer to this question. Though it's safe to say more than a session or two is necessary to make any headway on what brings someone in, some individuals find a few sessions are sufficient, while others choose to continue long-term (over 20 sessions). There isn't necessarily a single answer, but during an intake session I can give you a more personalized estimate.
