From fear of going to the store alone to taking dance classes in Brazil, I know recovery is possible

Hi, I’m Meghan cromie lpc

She/her

Fear and anxiety can create so many limitations in our life, and can often prevent us from living as our true and authentic selves. For many years I dealt with debilitating social anxiety, phobias, and panic that prevented me from even speaking to most people or even wanting to leave the house by myself. This left me feeling stuck, alone, and miserable. I got tired feeling life my life was stuck in a bubble.

Even though it was hard, through my own journey with exposure therapy I was able to face these fears, and learn to stop obsessing and trying to get “perfectly safe”. I was able to start living, and getting used to getting out of my comfort zone through baby steps at first, but eventually in strides. Thanks to that journey I was able to put myself out there to pursue my education, create my business, find an amazing partner and friends, and live life on my own terms. I am passionate about helping others overcome their fears as well. I know life can make it hard to take those initial steps, but I am here to meet you where you’re at, and start taking action towards your goals.

Because of this I have undergone extensive training in evidenced based therapies so that I can help guide people who feel trapped by anxiety. I use CBT, exposure therapy, ERP, PE and more to help you get freedom from anxiety and start living a life aligned with your values. We work at your pace, but with the accountability of making sure we’re taking small steps forward.

Meghan continues to constantly build her OCD expertise though ongoing education and is a part of several local OCD specialist consultation groups. Meghan is a member of the OCD Central and South Florida Chapter of IOCDF as well as staying involved in the International OCD Foundation at large. Meghan also operates a public tik tok page dedicated to furthering understand and education on OCD nationwide.

Outside of Therapy

I’m a Florida native, who grew up in Clearwater and recently moved to South Florida about 2 years ago now.

I grew up in a large Trinidadian-American household, navigating a biracial identity, while managing responsibilities as an eldest daughter. Multicultural and cultural informed counseling is an important value to me, and I love working with people navigating their cultural identities and family boundaries.

When I’m not working you can usually find me at the library checking out the latest books, checking out my favorite thrift stores, relaxing at the beach, traveling to as many countries as I can, and trying to get creative in the kitchen.

My Approach

I specialize in evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), & Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is a specialized form therapy for OCD. My goal is to help you change behaviors to live your best life. If traditional talk therapy hasn't worked for you, an action based approach may help.

ERP

ERP or Exposure Response prevention is a specialized therapy style which helps with OCD, healthy anxiety, phobias and more. While difficult it helps you get your life back

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. The idea behind CBT is that by changing negative or unhelpful thoughts, we can alter our feelings and behaviors for the better.
