Still Minds Psychology is not in network with any insurers, but can provide super bills to help with out of network reimbursement.

While therapy can be an expense, many clients view it as an investment. My patients find working with a highly trained specialist is still more cost effective than years spent trying to treat their condition with someone who does not understand how anxiety, OCD or phobias work. I work with people to recover and eliminate symptoms and teach you the skills to handle issues effectively once therapy is done.

  • How much is it if i use my insurance?

While I do not bill insurance and am not in network with any plans, many of my patients choose to use their out of network benefits for therapy (not coaching), this usually end up paying $50-$80 per therapy appointment . I cannot provide you an estimate of what therapy will cost with your benefits, but the fastest way to get exact information about your benefits is to call your insurance company an ask about out of network coverage. The procedure code for your first session is 90791 and all subsequent sessions are code 90837. Important questions to ask are

Does my plan have out of network benefits for mental health therapy?

Do I have a deductible to meet before I can use my out of network benefits?

How would I submit requests for reimbursement?

I am happy to provide you with a receipt (superbill) to make applying for reimbursement by your insurance easy. Please note because I am not a direct insurance biller you are paying the full cost of session at the time. of service and applying for reimbursement from your plan.

Which insurance plans do you take?

I am not in network with insurances. I am not a Medicare or Medicaid provider. I am willing to act as an out of network provider by supplying superbills. This means we are not in network and do not provide insurance billing services only receipts to help you get reimbursement.

If I submit super bills to my insurance can therapy still be private?

No, therapy is not as private when you use insurance, even using superbills. This is because your insurance company will have access to your diagnosis, treatment plan, and progress notes in order to process claims, which means your mental health information is not completely confidential between you and your therapist. By applying for reimbursement your insurer has the right to request your entire therapy record.

Many people choose to pay out-of-pocket for more privacy in therapy.

  • What is the Difference between Coaching and therapy?

Therapy and coaching serve different but sometimes complementary roles.

Therapy is a licensed clinical service that focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health disorders, processing past experiences, and addressing symptoms that significantly interfere with daily functioning. It’s often essential when someone is in acute distress or needs formal clinical treatment.

Coaching, on the other hand, is forward-focused and skills-based. It emphasizes practical tools, behavior change, accountability, and helping you apply what you already know into real-world action. Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental illness, but it can be highly effective in supporting recovery from OCD and phobias when grounded in evidence-based principles.

For OCD and phobias in particular, recovery depends less on insight alone and more on consistent behavioral practice, such as reducing avoidance, tolerating uncertainty, and responding differently to fear. Coaching can be especially helpful for:

    • Practicing exposure-based strategies in daily life

    • Breaking reassurance-seeking and safety behaviors

    • Building confidence in managing anxiety independently

    • Staying accountable and consistent between challenges

    • Shifting from “knowing what to do” to actually doing it

Many people come to coaching after therapy or alongside it, when they’re ready to focus on implementation, momentum, and long-term maintenance. For others with mild to moderate symptoms, coaching may be an appropriate first step.

Importantly, ethical coaching includes clear boundaries and referrals.

    In short:
Coaching helps you apply, practice, and move forward.
For OCD and phobias, that combination can be powerful.

  • How long can I expect to come to therapy?

There is no definitive answer to this question. Though it's safe to say more than a session or two is necessary to make any headway on what brings someone in, some individuals find a few sessions are sufficient, while others choose to continue long-term (over 20 sessions). There isn't necessarily a single answer, but during an intake session I can give you a more personalized estimate.

  • No. Having intrusive thoughts does not mean you’ve done anything wrong, and it does not automatically require reporting.

Intrusive thoughts are incredibly common. Many people experience unwanted thoughts about harm, sexuality, aggression, or other disturbing themes. These thoughts can feel upsetting or even frightening , but a thought is not the same as an action or intent. In therapy, you can talk openly about intrusive thoughts without fear of judgment.

As a licensed therapist, I am required to break confidentiality only in very specific situations , such as if there is an immediate and serious risk of harm to yourself or someone else, or in cases involving abuse of a child, elder, or dependent adult. Simply having intrusive thoughts does not meet that threshold.

Therapy is a space to explore what’s happening in your mind safely and honestly. You do not have to carry scary or unwanted thoughts alone.

  • Yes the office is fully wheelchair accessible and is all one floor with no stairs/steps. Handicap parking is available. It does not have automatic doors.
